Daily Drawing 22

Qjump, rubbish. I’ve just wasted almost 3 hours online waiting to get my girlfriend tickets to Splendour with their ‘amazing’ new ticket buying system. I was going to write a big spiel about how crap it is, but I can’t be bothered. Needless to say she isn’t going to Splendour and I’ll do everything I can to avoid that site in the future. Qjump is the most inappropriate name too, it should be something along the lines of “”

Below is an animated gif I whipped up of how “accurate” the progress bar was over the first hour of waiting. It continued like that for another 2 hours.

Semi Contour 01

Semi Contour 03

I think I may have first done contour drawings back in high school, where you look at the shape of your subject and draw (sometimes without lifting your pencil) without looking at your page. These were based off some photos I have of friends. I cheated a little and looked at the page to reposition my pen a few times so as to not overlap parts of the image. They’re quite different to what I normally draw, but were certainly fun to do and I like how they turned out. I’m hoping to set myself a few more challenges like this.

Daily Drawing Gear

I’ve been pretty lazy in regards to getting any drawings done recently so I’m setting myself the task of doing at least one image a day this month in a little A6 sketchbook I have. Each drawing will be based on things I get up to during the day. I’ll be using the equipment shown above (unless any of the pens run out).
